Never knowing where to turn,
confusion on every side,
no where left to run,
never any place dark enough to hide.
Lost angel, where will you go,
bereft of god's grace,
with those salty, stinging tears,
streaming down your pretty face.
Never knowing what next to do,
never knowing what is left for you,
hating the indecision,
always something else,
something else to keep you where,
you least belong.

Life is just as cruel, sitting at the top,
legs astride where you want to be,
yet always short, short of what you want.
Arms never long enough to reach,
everything you think you want, right there,
just far enough, another life lesson waiting,
for life to teach.

Gave up those those wings of freedom,

you wish you could share their bliss in ignorance,

some things will always remain,
eating away at you like disease.

salt stained beauty the only kind left,
