The Legend 2

Only 5’10”, but he’s 10 ft. tall

For the feats that he’ll do from day to day

He’s on a mission of nobility and honor

When he passes by just let him on his way

Tip your hat to this hard-hatted man

Who flies to the rescue with every chance that arrives

Don’t expect the elements to stand in his way

Rain, sleet, or snow, he’ll still be saving lives

Time, space, and fire are his foes

Many times fortune will be his nemesis

But he’ll stand victorious as swift as he is

With care for himself lost in some abyss

Flashing red lights and echoing cries

Signs that he’s near and ready to roll

When he gets a call you can bet he’ll respond

Just send him a signal and he’ll save your soul

Dressed in yellow and cruising in red

He defies death and he’ll always rise higher

Then the odds presented this noble saver of lives

This keeper of peace, this fighter of fires.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I felt that if I was going to cover the cowboy, why not other hero's?  This is about the heroic firefighters who are risking there lives everyday and putting there own well being on the shelf (Dedicated to Eric Weach)
