The Devil with Him.

I was walking behind an elderly man, his was a slow step and he placed his weight heavily on a steel walking stick. People avoided him there was something about this man that caused people to give him a wide berth. His clothes were somewhat old fashioned as if he came from another period in time. Strangely enough each dog that went past this man avoided him, some even growled. Dogs are not usually so aggressive. I thought perhaps the walking stick upset the dogs.

Suddenly the man turned and I nearly bumped into him. Following me are you not Shaw Bernard, Satan in disguise trying to see whether I would know him if he appeared dressed as an old man rather shoddy but I grinned and said Satan every dog knew that you were not from this World I have been following you for quite some time, the dogs gave you away. What is it this time that brings you back to this world, surely not me or are you really afraid that I will win when I come to your part of Heaven known as Hell?

Shaw Bernard I am an Angel never forget that He himself would not let a human throw me from my position of Master of Hell. You are right in one thing, I often come here to Earth not for your sake but think what would happen if no one committed a crime any more. Not just crime but all of the marriages that are broken, it is my work that so many are divorced. I send men and women even children thoughts in their tiny brains Most humans are easy to tempt, one must just find out what they think they want the most, it is I that put such thoughts into brains that are weak and not able to fight off my temptations.

Satan are you not being a little too open with your telling me all of this I too must pass the Guardian Angels and it would be easy for me to tell them of your escapades here on Earth. They would be quick, even eager to get some thing on you as you well know. You will not have to pass the Guardian Angels I will see to it that you come straight to hell I am looking forward to seeing what powers you have that I cannot thwart.

As the Devil told me that I would go straight to Hell Two large German Shepherd Dogs one on either side of Old Nick both lifted their leg and peed all over Satan’s trouser legs.  I stopped my grinning and burst out into laughter, two dogs were not afraid of the Devil this gave me the necessary defiance that I now felt for Old Nick. I will give him a good run for his money or whatever it is that is used in Hell. Take care I say, your scribbler Bern.
