Troubles in Space.

For three weeks now we had steadily approached an unknown planet. Slowly but surely the planet became larger and larger we could see activities taking place. First it looked as if the planet was in the middle of a heavy thunder storm. We soon realised that a full scale global war was taking place before our eyes. The main engines were shut down and on one auxiliary motor we slowly approached the planet.

Explosion after explosion took place heavy damage to buildings that looked as if they had been standing for years. We certainly did not want to get involved in any kind of warfare. We were heavily armed with all of the most modern artefacts of war but we were the latest ship built to investigate our Galaxy. The Commander ordered that our space ship be stopped and we would send an investigation team to the planet to find out what all of these explosions were. Our signals section picked up radio signals coming from the planet. Signals reported that radio was in its very infancy and was very primitive. No mention of war or heavy Bombing and in between music senders a form of new report. House five thousand and one had been destroyed. New building would take place as soon as it was safe for the building contractors to enter the area.

Our ship returned with a report of what was taking place on the continents of the planet. They had a world Government that had started off a new rebuilding project. The planet had been visited by a race of Aliens who had convinced their Government to modernise their rather backward world. Hospitals were unknown, schools were very primitive and there was no form of religion. The commander of our ship made a decision we were to fly off looking for another planet. We would return in fifty years to see what progress had been made. The Aliens had kept their home world secret and we were now on the look out for not only new planets but Alien races that also had space travel.

I will finish this my report by telling you that we found a few planets that were in their early stages of development. Nothing was to be gained by landing on such planets. All planets that were inhabited were in early stages of civilisation, My guess is that in about a thousand years there will be many Aliens visiting all over the galaxy, this would be good for all races as modern inventions would make the food supplies more abundant, Knowledge would be available from many different worlds. Many illnesses will be eliminated and work forces will not be done by humans but by roboters. We have roboters in nearly all houses. Only a few Engineers control the many new factories, holiday resorts have sprung up all over the world, Children and the young People all must attend school until they are twenty-one. Most will leave school with a diploma or University title or some other Academic grade. On our return to earth most of the crew were promoted. The engineers and the scientists were given work as University Professors Films were shown of all that our camera’s had taken. Interest was immense. Most of the films were shown over and over again. I volunteered for the next space exploration and was immediately welcomed as a senior crew member. A new report on this trip will be ready for you to read when I return. Bern your scribbler.
