Not a Theatre.

A couple of clowns tumbled onto the stage I personally did not find them funny. Rather pathetic I thought especially as there was some kind of problem with the stage curtain, the curtain swung forward only to disappear back into the recess of the stage. This happened four or five times and the Audience did not find it at all funny.

The slow clapping also put the two clowns off and they ran off the stage. A tall man came on next he opened his mouth to sing instead of a song a nasty bout of coughing started he too had to leave the stage. Now the cries from the Audience were louder, i8t started off somewhere near the front next to the stage. “We want our money back. Swindle, others, one glorious fiddle. Then a pretty young girl came on to the stage. Smiling all over her face she opened her mouth and sang a song that I had not heard in years, It was, somewhere over the Rainbow. The public were now up on their feet clapping and cheering. This maiden had saved the evening for most of the People. At the back of the stage all were asking who is this girl? No one knew her; even her name was unknown. For two and a half hours she sang one song after the other. I myself began to wonder as all of her songs were very popular in the last century. Only a few of the elderly people realised this and people began to talk.

The next day the theatre was full even the reporters from the newspapers were in attendance. This time the pretty young girl came out on to the stage no clowns no men wanting to sing. Again all of the old songs. It did not seem to matter the crowd loved the songs and the sweet young voice.

Suddenly an elderly man stood up and went down to the stage. For his age he was very fit for he jumped up on to the stage. He went to the young girl and took her in his arms. My Great, Great Granddaughter what are you doing in this theatre. You passed away many years ago. The newspaper reporters heard what the elderly man was saying. Photos were taken both of the pretty young girl and of this very old man.

Again the stage curtains started going back and forth. The young Girl stopped right in the middle of her song and disappeared. The elderly man fell and had to be rushed to hospital his heart had stopped, the news papers the following day were full of a story of a young girl that had come back from the dead to sing at the theatre. Photos were compared with the pictures of a young girl that did sing at the theatre. All that saw the pictures and the young girl swore that it could only be the same person. The theatre was full with people wanting to see the singing Ghost. Since then all has gone well the clowns are now funny the man that should have sung has a very good voice and sings operatic songs and id very popular but no one has ever seen the young pretty girl again. Many say that the girl was allowed to come back to save this old theatre it had seen good service over nearly two hundred years and it would have been a shame to close it down. Two pictures are in the entrance of the theatre one of her in the old days and one of her as she sang to save the theatre, I myself cannot see any difference they are both the same person in my eyes.
