Teddy Bear.

Poetry by Bern.

  • Teddy Bear.
  • Father Christmas brought me a Teddy Bear.
  • I take it with me nearly everywhere.
  • Out in to the garden under the cherry tree,
  • Is one of the places where he plays with me.
  • Mummy takes me shopping into the town,
  • Teddy comes with me he is cuddly and brown.
  • Yesterday the Bakers wife offered him a cake,
  • It was small and sweet that she herself did bake.
  • Teddy broke it in half and shared it with me,
  • Mummy bought some more which we had with our tea.
  • After supper when it is time for us to go to bed,
  • Mummy kisses us goodnight after our prayers are said.
  • In my little bed Teddy and I cuddle up real tight,
  • Mummy wishes us both a very good night.
  • With my arms around Teddy I soon fall asleep,
  • He is my comfort and lovely and warm he does me keep.
  • I am now grown up I am nearly ten,
  • I write to my Teddy every now and then.
  • I tell him in confidence my secrets one by one,
  • He will always be with me for he is such great fun.
  • Now you know why I love my Teddy Bear.
  • For he shows me a love that I can always share.
