Fortune Teller.

Poetry by Bern.

  • Fortune Teller.

  • With silver I crossed your palm,
  • To see what the future would bring.
  • A Lady with great charm,
  • Will make your heart to sing.
  • This you prophesied to me the other day,
  • Up till now no Lady has come my way.
  • That piece of silver I could ill afford,
  • But I did it of my own accord.
  • -----------------
  • It was a heavy ill-fated blow,
  • That made me cross your palm.
  • I won't do it again you know,
  • But I will remain calm.
  • ----------------
  • No one can tell the future, only I the past,
  • Money I did not crave, just a girl of my own.
  • Perhaps a little love that would always last,
  • A lovely Lady that I could take home.
  • ----------------
  • Then one day your prophecy came true,
  • I met my Lovely Lady with great charms.
  • Now I stick to her like glue,
  • And she is always in my arms.
