- You who suffered the pangs of birth,
- Giving life to another soul on earth.
- Stilling it with your own sweet milk,
- Those loving caressing hands of silk.
- Letting that babe feel that you are near,
- Encasing it with a love so dear.
- Arms that are strong at comforts need.
- Quick with breast that it may feed.
- Gentle mouth that lullabies it to sleep.
- A mothers heart, that is so deep.
- Watchful compassion through the day,
- Sleepless nights keeping child's tears at bay.
- You with your child, One with the other.
- That is the true picture of a loving mother.
