Fireflies.

Fireflies lit up my home last night,

It showed my garden in a pale new light.

Attracted by this light so strange so blue,

Came the Fairies, Elves and Leprechauns too.

All were intent on having a good time,

Even the Norway Trolls put on a pantomime.

Trees were decorated with beautiful flowers,

I, it seems gazed at them for hours and hours.

Up in a tree an owl was watching it all,

It is better, he said, than the Fairy Ball.

A wonderful sight when fireflies glow,

I have never seen them light up snow.

It is you know a sight for my eyes,

just sitting and watching fireflies.
