Would You Be Mine?

I am old yes in my body I am old.

In my heart now I am so bold.

I cannot run or even dance.

Mainly I am in a form of trance.

Age has mellowed me I am no more wild.

In fact I think I am going back to a child.

No more wanting to win the daily race.

For I just cannot stand the speedy pace.

Life was not too kind to me you know.

I could not take hold; I oft let things go.

Many a race I could have perhaps won.

But life you know was not much fun.

Once again I ask would you be mine?

I know the answer and that is fine.

I am not the one to kiss and cuddle.

My brain is always in a terrible muddle.

So go and find some one of your very own.

This poem of mine the seeds have sewn.

Away with you others are always there.

My spent old life is not for you to share.
