As summer takes over for spring
My heart stops to sing
For it grows prettier by the day
The summer sun keeps the pain away
From my soul and my heart
To keep the love that was at summer’s start
And the heat keeps the glow
So we may avoid the shadow
And treasure what we have become
For we shall keep this till summer is done
And we shall act as if we know all
But burden shall come, for it’s soon to be fall
