Youth

Do or die.. Die while doing
Like a naive, insistent itch
The defiant cry of youth

Oh, the glitter of gold, the sight of land
Disregard the cost in passionate zeal
The blood, the sacrifice

Sweat and tears come to grow and give strength
An unending, mindless cycle
Row, row, row young one

Like a thief, excitement takes common sense
The rigors of the ocean
How it whispers promise or perhaps destruction.

Hearts must dream or die.. Live or just survive.
Is this notion foolishness.. The gleam of youth?
The sea is calling my name.
