Sun to Shore

...And you could take the pain away,  you could feel alive.

Instead you beat your words into my skin.

Maybe you think bruises speak louder.

Running straight for the deep end, you take the last dive.

Drowning yourself in salt and green waves won't make the hurt stop.

Swimming in the bile of the sea, drifting towards the sunrise.

And you take the pain away.

You could feel alive.

Ignore the scares and torn skin.

Watch the air and breath in the sun rise,

that would lead you back to shore.

Your dreams for me were not realized.

Maybe you should have mentioned them.

The doll dresses and red lipstick stay in the dark.

The only thing you could not change, was my heart.

You taught me to take a hit contradicting your teaching.

Always reminding me to never forget.

To cross my legs and act like a lady.

And you take the pain away.

You could feel alive.

Ignore the scares and torn skin.

Watch the air and breath in the sun rise,

that would lead you back to shore

Depressed by your borderline world and disappointed by me.

Taking your own life, to prove a point that doesn't exist

I feel you fall to the bottom of the ocean.

Bubbles float to the top and I close my eyes and I can see nothing but a haze of black and opened white eyes.

And something inside me realized the irony in this.

I am the suicidal one who no one would miss and

you simply couldn't swim.

And you could have  taken your pain away

You could have felt alive and

Ignored my  scares and torn skin.

Take in your last breath of air, and watch the sun rise.

Before mother nature burry's   you in the shore.
