This is my letter to the world (A Dickinson Spinoff)

This is my letter to the world,
That has never learned to appreciate
One such as I
But causes more heartache.
\The world outside my box
I live in as a charade;
You only see me with my mask
This is my parade.
The words that leave their mouths,
They sting just like a bee.
No one cares how much it hurts
They hate my humility.
\This is my letter to the world,
Telling it goodbye.
From now on your words will say hi and pass,
And my confidence won't cry.
I'm happy to be who I am,
And now I know the truth;
The only person I can trust is myself
For this world is so uncouth.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Dickinson is one of my favorite poets, and I will never forget the day we had to make our spinoffs for 8th grade English. Here's mine.
