Family I don't think we realize how much we can hurt
How badly someone else's pain can effect us
As I watched the tears fall from my baby sisters eyes
I felt my own heart begin to swell up with pain
With a great sadness that nothing I could say can mend her heart
I just had to do the only thing I could
Sit and listen, there was nothing more I could do
I love her so much and all I could do is try to joke
Get her to smile even though it doesn't stop her pain
I need her to realize life does get better
That it's not only full of bad things, sad feelings
That some, I don't know when day she will feel happiness
Her tears will evaporate and a smile will return
The smile so many people want to see across her face
It's awful that she had to realize this way that some people don't forgive
They can't possibly let go of one mistake
If he knew her at all, he'd know how much she really does love him
That everyday she misses him, wants him back
And would do anything she could to get him back
It's hard for me not to butt in, not try to repare the damage I helped cause
I wish I could have stopped her from making what she feels was the worst mistake of her life
But she is stronger than she realizes, that she is an amazing worthwhile person
And that if it really is meant to be he will come back to her
If their love was as great as she believes, they will have their happily ever after
And if he doesn't than he was never her one
That their is another amazing man out there for her
That her happy ending is still out there waiting for her
Out there some one is missing a piece of themselves just the way she is
