I didn't mean to love you-
I didn't mean to let you take my heart-
I never should have let you walk away,
I broke my own heart.
I thought you could do better,
I believed you needed more,
I wasn't good enough,
I broke myn heart when I let you walk out the door.
Tonight I sit here all alone,
Tonight I see the error of my ways,
I wish there was a way to turn back the clock,
I'd tell you I love you too,
I'd ask you to stay.
I'd say age was only a number,
And that you were my only one,
I would show you you were my world,
I'd hold you until the doubt was done.
Now it is too late to fix what I did wrong,
You've moved on with your life
I am alone in a love I saw far too late,
And the pain cuts my soul like a knife.
My nights are loney now,
Thoughts of you fill my days.
I wish I had said I loved you too, instead of watching you walk out the door.
Looking back now, I see the error in my ways.
