Life's Little Lessons

Folder:
Death

You taught me about the beauty of love,
It's everlasting song, it's eternal glow,
It's something I'll remember all the days of my life.
You showed me how to trust,
It's the key that sets the heart free.
For surely without trust, love cannot exist.
And when I doubted, you gave me the secret to believing,
Trust with the heart, and know with your soul-
For, just as you don't see the wind, you still know it's there.
When I thought I'd found the end, you gave me hope again-
For without hope it's a dark and gloomy world.
Where people will always die in vain because they don't know theres a brighter tomorrow.
When life did me wrong, you taught me to forgive.
Forgiveness is the key to happy living,
For to hold onto your anger until your dying day is to leave life unfinished.
All the things I wish I could have said to you,
All the words we left unspoken-
Now it's too late for even a little " thank you-"
Yet of all the things you taught me, you forgot the most important lesson of all,
How come you never taught me how to say "good-bye?"
