Like the Wind

Like the wind, I pass you.
You do not notice who I am.
Like the breeze I blow on by,
Back to my own little lonely corner of the world.
Do not cry for me,
Do not hurt for me,
For like the wind,
I'll drift on by.
Another town full of people who don't want me,
Another night knowing no one cares.
You brush me aside-
I'm not part of your world.
You throw me away,
Like my life was yesterday's trash-
Like the wind howling in the night,
Tomorrow I'll be forgotten.
Swept under the carpet of society,
Hidden from the world.
Do not forget me.
For someday you too may be like the wind...
