Fade Away



I can’t get your face out of my mind

It haunts my once sweet dreams

I’ve tried to leave the past behind

But I’m tearing at the seams



Your face, it haunts me

You’ve broken my heart in two

How can you say you want me?

After hurting me like you do



I want your memories to fade away

So I can finally rest in peace

You say that things will be okay

But you are the disease



I can’t get your voice out of my head

It haunts my own reality

After all that’s been done and said

You are now dead to me



Your voice, it haunts me

You’ve torn me all the way through

What is it you want from me?

Cause I want nothing to do with you



I want your existence to fade away

Fade out of my life

You say that we would be okay

But you brought my heart’s demise



Here I am, lingering on the past

Thoughts of what we could be, passing through my mind

And finally, at long last

I can leave our cold empty memories behind

The sun has come and lit the night

Inside my once twisted mind

Now’ I can smile at a new day

Because your memories did fade away
