Ebony Dragon

Watch the ebony dragon rise

And hear its victim’s tormented cries

The brave shall fall and lose their lives

All who fight this mighty beast

Shall find themselves torn to pieces

As the sun sets in the distance

And the blood moon will rise

In that second, in that instance

The demons will all capsize

And hide in the darkest pits of hell

Where only Satan dare to dwell

The mighty dragon, strong and proud

Covers the world in a flaming cloud

The ebony dragon rules the night

Impenetrable by the blinding light

An ear shattering, splintering roar

Causes all angels to cower

From this creatures monstrous power

The angels will arm themselves

While demons unite, down in hell

He humans all cluster about

Facing death with but a doubt

Woman cry and children shout

As the dragon rips them apart

The angels begin to descend

The demons lend them a hand

And a battle begins to wage

It only fuels the dragon’s rage

The dragon, black in color

Causes all mortals to cower

With scales of spikes and dreaded nails

A swift swing, brings rise to gales

And eyes burning black and dark

One glance can rip a soul apart

And put a stop to the strongest heart

The ebon dragon charges in

A black ball of fire, building within

The large black ball of doom

Destroys flesh, houses and ruins

Til the worlds a darkened grave

One without the light, no one can save

The dragon, who is now king

Flexes its pitch black wings

A hero will rise to fight this monster

He who has skills like no other

With a sword made from the unknown

He fights the king, til one is gone

With a blade that shines of light

As the dragon takes its flight

The dragon breathes out blackened flames

And he thinks he has won the game

To his surprise, the man still stands

With no scratch, with sword in hand

And beside him stood his noble friend

Shed stand by him until the end

He drew his shining, blazing sword

And whispered soft loving words

Incase he wouldn’t see her again

Incase this moment was his end

He kissed her softly, kissed her farewell

As he watched the dragon, with a glare

The brave one charged, and jumped in the air

As the dragon breathed a flaming flare

The hero dodged and slashed in an ark

And pierced the dragons beating heart

And with a cry, the dragon fell

And hit the fiery flames of hell

The ebony dragon, going weak

Closed its eyes to go to sleep

As the darkness closes tight

No ones there to wish it good night

A soft hand holds the dragon’s scales

And whispers words, stories and tales

The dragon turned to look up again

To see the woman’s pale and soft hand

She smiled weakly, and held its wound

And the darkness crept away soon

The hero who stood beside her

Softly smiled at her soothing words

The dragon stands, once again

But its evil reign comes to an end.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem is in contrast with Ebony Pheonix. Here, no matter how powerful evil is, light is always there to fight against it. It also conveys that evil can change its alignment.
