Rare Ruby

I let my heart blossom for you
I jumped with my eyes closed
I left my thorns locked in a box
All because I thought you were the one

Once again my heart is crowned with thorns
I don’t know if I can resist another break up
Where is the strength or explanation to move on?
Confusion reigns like a far away constellation

Everyday I pray, bitterness doesn’t express
What a shame to mud the precious memories
Love shouldn’t be tainted because of this
It does exist out there inside a rare ruby

To give up, is easy to do, to hope, is a rare truth
All you can do is…to let time do its magic
Everything has a band-aid that we cover up the damage
Breaking up is hard, moving on is even harder

I can’t fall asleep because of you
The lonely walls echo your smile, déjà vu
I played all the right cards, which I never do
All these new thorns might never be removed

But, Love shouldn’t be tainted because of this
It does exist out there, it’s a rare ruby...
