Rooftop Dreams

As the faces passed I examined their motives
I whispered in my mind what can they be thinking, where can they be going?
Through the eyes of an unborn child I admired their light
With a glass of wine I sat in peace having rooftop dreams

I extended the horizon with an unfound sight
I saw the great glory of reaching the moon at night, I touched it and it felt right
Before the sunrise I spent the minutes counting stars
How am I different? is it because I can experience rooftop dreams?

My dear friends why are you so close to me?
Now that I'm laying down a symphony swiftly drumming
We are an ocean apart; I can feel my pupils dilating
Through a midnight trance I ventured from rooftop to rooftop... dreaming
