My mother’s mini-van.

Through my entire school life, I vividly remember waiting outside the school after the classes ended, waiting for my mom to pick me up, patiently searching for my mom’s van in the long lines of cars, and when I was able to spot it, a smile always appeared in my face. As far as I can remember, my mom’s minivan always made a particular noise when you stepped on the brake pedal, loud enough to hear it from meters away, so I always knew when she was close to picking me up, and served me as an alarm to when she was about to get to the home, so it gave me time to pick up all my mess and get the chicken out of the fridge that she told me about 3 hours ago. The famous mini-van is a dark red Chevrolet Venture from 2003, and still to this day is up and running, almost like new.  If you were to begin the search for the most durable and loyal vehicle of all time, you will have to start and finish with my mom’s mini-van. I played basketball through almost all my infancy and adolescence, and I had tournaments all over Mexico, and I can’t even begin to count the times we went to said tournaments in this mini-van, we travel all the way from my hometown, Reynosa, to far places of Mexico, like Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, San Luis Potosi and furthermore. But not only did this beautiful car took us all over Mexico, it also traveled it fair share of miles through the States, about 12 years ago we went all the way to Orlando, Florida, and we past all Christmas over there, and of course, we went to Disney, but that’s not all, 6 years ago we went in another journey, in the same mini-van, all the way to North Carolina, in order to visit my big brother from his school exchange, and we went to Orlando again after picking him up. My dad has been, and still is amazed about how much endurance this Mini-van has had during the years, and so a weird but special bond has been created between my family and this mini-van. And as I said, it’s still running up, probably better than ever. Every time I see a random dark red Venture, I cant help but remember all the great times I spent with my family inside that little van, and in all the beautiful destinations it took us.
