The worst days are not

the days where I am drowning

in a sea that I can't escape,

gasping for air,

praying for help.

The worst days are

the days that I am on shore

happy to be out of the sea

but fearing the day

you throw me back in.

I can handle the turmoil

and the distress and the pain, 

but I can not handle the waiting.
