His despondance made her look inside
And fight a fight she never realized
Was happening. She made him see
What he could be without
His shame. she
Took a cab to the nearest photo shop
Blew up a copy of their favorite shot
Hung it on the wall next to the front door
He opened it up and laughed at what he saw
She penned a poem while paying the bills
Never had talent but tried sometimes, turns out
She'd done well by writing him back into her life
He showed up with a smile this time
Carelessness cured, doctor's orders followed
She held his hand as long as she could
