You And Me

Poetry

I still remember you,

Just as you were.

Those big, bright eyes

And long dark hair.

Body chiseled out of alabaster,

Perfect face and perfect love.

We danced our silent dance

To a waltz with no melody.

The symphony in our hearts echoed.

Violins resounding with dark angels' voices.

We were the Romeo and Juliet of the night,

Hiding in alleys and cloaked with our emotions.

And then That Day came.

So quickly you stole away,

Leaving me drowning in my tears.

I know you didn't mean to go,

But hope isn't easing this pain through.

You said it's going to be you and me

Always.

It's going to be you and me

Forever.
