Deconstructive Surgery

Poetry

Let the pictures on my wall speak for themselves,

Memories tucked away and buried for all time.

A film reel of people flashing through my mind.

Light a candle and say one last prayer.

This chapter has ended,

So turn the page and start over again.

It's something I cannot stop,

But in the end we all know it's right.

The blood will drip and the tears will flow.

Crush a life like a butterfly in my palm.

Cryptic words scattered to the winds.

Board up my broken heart and declare a vacancy.

Nothing is the same anymore,

None of this is right.

Let's just call it the end of this life.
