No More Tears

Eyes bloodshot, cheeks wet

Can't stop these salty tears from running.

Body shaking, vision all a blur

This weakness will not stop showing.

It's acid on the skin and pain in the heart.

Choking sobs that echo through the hallways.

Lips bitten, voice hoarse

Another night to sob bitterly in to my pillow,

And try to forget to wake up in the morning.

These harsh words and caustic tears won't stop burning,

Can you make them go away?

You promised me there would be no more pain.

But I still hurt.

You promised me there would be no more tears,

But I'm still crying.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Hmm.. I wrote this after about three months of a mental block on poetry.
