Heroine

Folder:
Poetry

Plastic syringe filled with my heroine.

She keeps me straight,

Keeps the demons from rising up inside.

Just a little shot into my vein for a veil of nothingness,

An addiction that is bittersweet.

She is my heroine, my protector and guide,

Hiding me from all that is bad in ther mind-altering daze.

Watch the vein rise and fall as the needle pierces,

A real chemical romance blazing through my body.

When I fall, my heroine is there to catch me.

But I keep on going down because she let go,

And now I'm dying, fighting for myself,

Because my heroine can't save me this time.
