You spend your whole life searching

For a wish upon a star

But the dream is fading slowly

And it's tearing you apart



You speak of love unending

Of passions held deep inside

And everyday you're hoping

That your prince will realize



It's hard to hold it in sometimes

But somehow you find a way

To dream of him every night

And then still face each day



All you ever wanted was just

One dream to come true

And all you ever asked for

Was for others and not you



It's hard to live a life like that

When all you need is love

And when I look into your eyes

I can't ever get enough



I know I'm not a prince at all

But I can be your shining star

I want you to see inside

And find a home within my heart



I may not have much money

But I'm rich in what you need

I can give you all my heart

And a pure love for eternity



So whisper to me softly

And tell me what's on your mind

Tell me is my love in vain

Or that you will be all mine
