The rabbit and the cheetah

A fable about the end of the world

There was a place that used to exist, but because of a series of unfortunate events, vanished, this place was named earth. Now there are some remains of it, it has lost almost all of its natural resources, provoking the extinction of all living things; so you could see a naked earth only with the remains of what used to be paradise, the soil was all covered in brown because of the dirt, without the vivid green color that distinguished it, all the lakes and oceans were dry, only leaving enormous craters where they used to be. It was a forgotten place, with nothing on it except from that feeling of sadness and loneliness which could take power over you if you spent just a little bit of time in it.

But somehow, in a cave near where the Himalayas mountain range used to be, it appeared, apparently, the one and only living thing in the remains of the earth, a rabbit which apparently survived the catastrophe; if you just spent a little bit of time taking a look at it, you could notice something strange in the way he looked, that even tough everything was lost for everyone, the rabbit felt like there was still hope, for moving on with his life (which was apparently the only one on earth). And suddenly one day the rabbit decided to move from where he was settled, filled with hope that in this attempt luckily he will find something or someone that could be useful to him in order for getting on with his life, he passed to a desert little town named Kubunto and suddenly he saw something moving, fast as the most powerful jet, and silent as the most deadly snake, there was something alive in there, and they were going to meet at that time.

And so the rabbit; filled with bravery and courage, decided to get in the house where he saw the thing and what a surprise it was for him when he found out it wasnt a thing it was the powerful cheetah, the fastest of animals with his imposing yellow and black colors all over his long body and his kind of short legs, at the time the rabbit watched the cheetah, he was amazed because he had never seen anything like that before, and thought, since we are the only two living things in the world we could get along and be friends, and after, just after the poor innocent rabbit spoke and said hello to the cheetah, he knew something bad was going to happen to him, but in his mind he thought I dont think he would be capable of doing that, and so the cheetah pounced towards the rabbit and bide him causing him and instant death, and with that leaving him alone in the entire world, as he already was.

As the moral of this fable we could say that sometimes our instincts can overcome our reason, and for our instinct it doesnt matter the scenario or our will to not doing things, they will just act and sometimes, they will ruin everything.

And the moral of the story is: Instincts overcome Reason.
