Odyssey.

Adventurous plans to distant lands, guided by the above hands, my horizon expands when I set sail to these far distant lands.

Setting sail through the bitter hail, I vow to the people I leave to never fail, will I see them again? In flesh or mail?

Sailing and gliding, forever riding, the sun still rising...

A life lost or a life won? I say farewell to everyone, be my journey safe or full of peril? Who knows? as forwards I peddle.

A quest for answers or a new life? A quest for knowledge before the arrival of the knife? A voyage for country or for wife?

Strolling and roaming, never goading, walking to your omen...

A childhood dream you set off with a gleam, up the mountain or down the stream, your boots brand new untouched at the seam. Staring at the map you plot you scheme, this odyssey called life whatever shall it mean for me? It must be found at sea.

Wandering and strolling, I forge my path, a pleasant journey, a smile, and a laugh?

Billowing storm clouds gather up above, I lose my land, my wife, my love, nothing remains, not a coin nor a glove.

Am I a seaman lost at sea? Am I a husk lost of all glee? My odyssey grows rough, oh woe is me...

Crawling and plodding, a footpath sodden, is my world just too well trodden?

A forgiving glow, a torrent of snow? My feet grow weak, old, meek, my journey goes on far past a week.

An inviting hut halfway down the road, within is a lover's abode, hopping in like a toad I take a seat, she waits with a kiss for me.

A crutch to rest on, a welcome hand, a love for you, not for anyone.

I find a treasure along the path, my journey is a painfal path, scarce is wine or laugh, but here is this woman, a hospitable soul.

Warmed by coal, her hands on my soul, I settle in to the pleasurable din, resting in, on this route, I win.

Travellers pass, you watch but don't cry, for this care is warming I.

The sunsets on the well trodden road, and your life sets too, was it worth it? This reward for you?
