Bus ride to Kuala Lumpur from Penang

Kuala Lumpur which is one of the most popular cities of Malaysia and also its capital. It is considered to be the cultural hub with huge skyscrapers on one side and futurustic shopping malls on the other, Kuala Lumpur is definitely a must visit. With thriving night clubs all along the street it will not be an exaggeration to say that Kuala Lumpur has its very own night life. It is considered to be an enclave within the state of Selangor. Kuala Lumpur is also quite famous for its street food all over the world . The food here is considered to be a vibrant mix of Malay, Thai and Chinese food. The use of spices and ingredients that are used in the dishes is quite mind blowing. Kuala Lumpur is basically quite different from other asian countries when it comes to shopping and night life of the city. By 10:00 pm the city is ready for action.

The night clubs are completely alive with DJ’s spinning music and some of the best alcoholic offerings. The scene continues till the wee hours of the morning where as malls like Pavillion and Surya KLCC which are home to international brands and shopping centres like Low Yat Plaza. If you are looking for some places to spend your money well you can also visit the Time Square Mall. The local people in Kuala Lumpur are quite helpful. I recommend you to stay either in Puduraya or Bukit Bintang in order to cover the entire city. Since it is a metropolitan city you should not expect much when it comes to cleanliness. Also make sure to visit Genting highlands which is at a height of about 5000 feet.

All the places in this city are well connected by Bus and I dont recommend you to drive around the city as it might turn out to be quite strenous. Make sure to visit places like the Petronous Twin Tower, the Rootz Dance Club, KL Tower and the famous Batu Caves. During your time in Kuala Lumpur you can stay at Budget Hotels like Cozy White and the Paper Plain Hostels. The best time to visit this city is between the months of December to February and May to August. After my stay at Kuala Lumpur had come to an end it was time to visit my next destination which was Penang.

I had multiple options like Bus, train and air to travel to this beautiful city. However, based on the recommendation of a colleague, I chose to travel by Bus. I had booked my bus tickets through  Redbus.my and the mobile tickets were on my phone within minutes. As per the website there are more than 8 Operators plying on this route. Etika Express, KPB Express, Plus Liner, Pacific Express, Konsortium, Intercity Coach, Nise Express and Trans Nasional were the executive coach Operators. There were buses from 12:00 am to 11:00 pm through out the day. The cost of a single ticket started from MYR35 which I found to be quite affordable. My journey to Pennang was quite comfortable and I would certainly recommend a Bus journey for any body.
