love songs without words

Her eyes,

they will not go away,

they don’t go away.

She sang love songs without words.

Words I could only dream words I never heard.

I made precise observations of the mundane somewhat ornate, just a little plain.

City details of dirty windows, letters missing from cafeteria signs while I am locked out by a blind doorman.

Anonymous pedestrians sliding lost on a worldwide slippinside in Manhattan.

The morning runs away laughing and I cry with no sound.

I embrace silence in the sweet peace I've never found.

She gives more of love than this poet can live.

Her eyes are words of an undelivered missive.

Her eyes,

No, they do not go away,

they will never go away.
