Even When Gone, She Visits Me

Little packets of heat hurl towards my back

They smash like meteors against the skin

And with each bursting bead from within hears a crack

While the eyes in the steam begin to stare back

Little veins of heat writhe down my chest

They jolt like currents of electricity

And with each buzzing twist - trickle down passed my wrists

Till her shape in the mist is pressed next to me

Little pools on the ground are trapped at my feet

They sit idle and look up at me

And all I can see to do is retreat

To that place where she still has a hold of me
