Faith

Well. All is well.

My heart poured out

Laid out bare

Protected my heart for centuries

Always the hard life

The same cobblestone road

It’s always been me

The last one left

Unnoticed

But when I laugh,

They all turn

My curls waving at strangers

They all turned

I smile

He looks

Hiding in my shell, peeking to come out

Being truly alive doesn’t feel wrong

I can speak

My truth, my past

But I want to talk about my future

Where does this leave me?

I want to leave behind a tale

A woman not giving up

Above all who doubted her

I’ve doubted me too

I hope your mercy is in your pocket

By your heart

Have some faith in me

Love me silently

Or love me out loud

Always have faith in me.
