MAGICIAN'S RETREAT

(I have seen it)

cloudy but bright inside

like a moonstone,

while a yellow gleam

finds itself from a shatter-crack shone,

and a blue glow from the lamppost

close to the front door.

It left nothing of which to complain,

More to obtain,

Sqarey and smooth, consummately plain.

A black tree mass rose at the back

almost touching the eaves

with the definiteness of magnetease,

was above all discreet.

Oh a lovely magician's retreat.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written in May 2005. I wrote this poem because it reminds me of a retreat I attended in Austin for AIPF & I'm in a change/transition.
