99b. Love and Loves, Known and Unknown

If we have loved, even 'though we have not shown it,

then we have felt a thing that will last forever!

If we've  BEEN  loved, although we have not known it,

then of  "The  Thing  Eternal"  we are a partaker.

Even beyond the memory of our own life

we share something of the spark of Art,

the Heart of Muse.  Love can wield a sharp knife

that heals even as it wounds the tender heart.

But if our Love was not a well-kept secret,

and we have felt, and we have touched and shared,

then we are blessed with Blessing past man-measure,

what's known alone to those who've deeply cared.

And if our Loving has been truly open,

sharing heart-to-heart with our beloved,

then that's enough to be our Inspiration,

and nothing else can ever rise above it.

True Loving is beyond even those distant angels

who are  made to love----they have no choice.

But  WE  can choose our Heart-ways, since we're mortals;

two hearts and minds become one breath and voice.

I would've fallen in love with this poem any time!

"True Loving is beyond even those distant angels
who are made to love----they have no choice.
But WE can choose our Heart-ways, since we're mortals;
two hearts and minds become one breath and voice."

I definitely love this last stanza so deeply! Yes, we are mortals, and sometimes we can't help it, but to fall in love. It is what we always need, want, and crave. And when we love, we take it to heart and go wherever it takes us... Simply beautiful. Not to mention if this was a song, I'd imagine that it's even more than beautiful... *smiles*
