stare into this listening contest

i could stare into you forever

the world could stroll by and ask us about our interlocked gaze

we could say

"we're listening"

and i would listen to your breath and know it's coming back to me

i want to breathe you in

and hold it forever

the world's gonna walk by and ask me why i'm holding my breath

"i'm listening"

i will hold my breath and listen to your stare forever

short and sweet... possible because i didn't want to finish it. i figure it's fine this way. and it is.
