Tired room, tired sounds
It will be the same every night
Watch the clock run down, look out the window
The world keeps on spinning
But you won’t feel like winning at all

But I want to see you wake in the mornings
The end of summer tears at the ceiling
And the sun beams fall on your face
Another morning, another place in your mind

Higher hopes, sweeter dreams
As the fall approaches you won’t get to see
All the leaves fall, from your window
But I hope in your heart a new layer imparts
So you can feel like your ready to take on the world

But I want to see you sleep in the evenings
Picturing autumn as beautiful as ever
As the leaves fall down and cover your eyes
They whisper new secrets and kiss you goodnight

Subtle heartache, lonely voices
Winter is cold as you feel all alone
But remember, it’s not over
All the better things are right at the seams of your heart
Pull them out, slowly unwind sweeter times

But I want to see you smile in daylight
When snow is falling soft on the pavement
May it remind you of God’s presence
And even in the cold, you feel you have a place at home

Bright eyes light, heart jumpstarts
This is the time, this is the time we both love
A new springtime, peeking outside
Slowly fresh breath brings us back from death
Into the silent birthing hope

And I’ll get to see you a little bit older
Growing so strong from the seasons passing over
And I’ll smile and you remember
Once again just what life is all about
