My mother's tea set collection

My mother likes teapots for some reason, but she doesn’t like any type of teapot; she only likes the really fancy looking ones. She is very picky with her teapots, she will only buy colorful ones with flowers and butterflies and birds. She’s got all types of teapots, from small ones to big ones to rounded and squared. I don’t think she cares for the price that much, as long as it is a good piece for her collection she’ll buy it, no if’s and’s or but’s, and my father does not have any say against her words. She keeps them in a showcase, along with all their matching sets. When we have visits over, their attention is drawn to the collection, all neat and looking taken care of, a reflection of my mother’s affection. When it is tea time, she is sure to use the cheap cups, because she won’t risk anyone being a klutz. The days she is by herself at home, she enjoys drinking tea in her fancy tea cups along with the fancy little plates with pastries and of course her fancy teapot. She never offers us anything to drink in those fancy cups, perhaps she does not trust us enough. She collects tea sets from all around the world; from when we went to Disneyland, Los Angeles, Paris and New York. I don’t know what she would do if any of her precious cups and pots would break, I don’t know if she’d be angry or sad or both, what I know for sure is that she wouldn’t be happy at all. I also don’t know why she likes teapots so much, or better yet, why she likes to collect them, I think that she wants to feel like Queen Elizabeth or just wants to let everyone know that she likes fancy assortment.

Sounds Interesting

I used to collect the willow plate pattern. I read a book in elementary school about the story of the lovers and their escape as birds. It never left me. It is fun to collect something pretty. Looking forward to your next prose. - allets -
