Classic Cars

The contrast of hard and soft

How shock can so easily take over

Classic cars, grey clouds

You were just walking so innocently

How were you to know

That everything led up to that very moment

Her heart might as well been leaking onto you

And what for? What is fate anyway?

So passive, don’t say that

For once letting go would have helped

Classic cars, going up state

They were on holiday.

Who’s acting serious now?

Who’s there to blame?

You never held yourself back

You fell in love in a sure manner

She was the drug in your eyes

Classic cars, with a purpose

They don’t know a damn thing

This is all a misunderstanding

"It is a terrible thing to be so open. It is as if my heart put on a face and walked into the world" -- Sylvia Plath.
