Shape Me

Shape me, make me, all that you think I should be
Break me, tame me, make me everything you need
Tear me down then build me back in an image you wish to see

Put my broken pieces in the pot to stew
Blend me into what I should be for you

Tie my tethers
Pull my strings
Make me dance just like your dreams
Hold me up, raise my chin
Gaze at the madness you've buried within

Tie the ropes
Watch me seethe
Turn me into puppetry

You never thought I could think for myself anyway
If I walk alone you think I'm running away
So string me up for all to see
Show them the strength you press on me

Watch the twine, it's getting weak
The strings will fray, the chains broken free
One day you will come to see
That being your marionette was never for me

Thank you

I was in the middle of dancing to someone else's drum when this one thought itself up.
Happy you enjoyed :)

Dancing On A String

The sing-song pacing is the movement of a puppet precisely - and I didn't see that coming at the end - bravo! - Lady A -

I like to sing

And rhyme to a beat. Especially when being puppeted around.
