Coals and Diamonds

You've been tempered
I'm still rough
You've grown tender
I've grown tough
Soft and slender
Not enough
I remember
When we touched

Carbon deposits unsettled lands
I reach to hold it in my hands
Force of fire, pressured sands

And through it all we both survived
From everything, we're still alive
Out of darkness, you still shine
In my dark and brittle, broken mind

We were cut from the same cloth
You and I
Though we've suffered through it all
We still climb
Out of the darkest nights of ours
Into light

Coals and diamonds
You and I
Coals and diamonds
Dark and light

This one's different- I like

This one's different- I like how you turned it around and the first stanza is something to be proud of. Happy writing to everyone doing the full 365, I don't trust myself enough haha

It was

The only thing I could come up with. I figured having Ash assign me words would be much more challenging than picking at random, and it was, but much more satisfying to tackle a word theme without any forethought.
I've read a significant amount of your writing, and you can trust yourself to turn an impressive phrase from just about anything you jot down. I have faith that you can do the whole list, probably with ease ;)
