I committed murder

I'm a person who everybody hates.

It's because I committed murder in 1988.

I had never committed a crime before.

I killed a couple who owned a convenience store.

I didn't have to kill them, they gave me all of their bread.

I should've walked out of the store but I shot them instead.

When I pulled the trigger twice, two lives ended.

In just a matter of hours I was apprehended.

I've spent all of these years in prison.

All because I made a stupid decision.

I didn't feel remorse until I saw their loved ones burst into tears.

I've felt nothing but pain and guilt during these years.

I'll still be in prison when I'm gray and old.

I'm doing life with no chance of parole.

You had me going there until I glanced at your comment about it. The poem really drew me in. Good job.
