small talk is language that I don't understand
it seems as though deception is a must in this land
hello, how are you? is what I hear
but would you care if i was blue
or even remember my name in a year
I would be more than happy to tell you about my day
if you promise to care about what I say
and in return I shall return the favor
your time and energy I shall savor
and maybe just maybe we can redefine the language
