A Brief History of Man

Was it for this after all that man

so recently created thought he'd try his own hand.

Sitting himself down in the midst-

insists "This garden is mine who am its best!",

Proceeded to name things small and great,

created His order and his state.

But alas that most blessed of trees

with many a fruit but so few leaves

would not join the forming circle,

for ´round it, it seemed, the river gurgled.

Man declares then in a sullen fit

"I'll eat and thereby master it."

Then the taste in the mouth

and the river ´round about

shifted the frame

and in naked shame

he saw his state as it is

and thus began the genesis.
