They Spit on us

Folder:
IRAQ War II

We feed the hungry nations

With our abundant food surplus

Our thanks…

They spit on us.

When their country was invaded

They said saving them was just.

Our thanks…

They spit on us.

We help them raise their cities

From disaster or war’s dust

Our thanks…

They spit on us.

After 9/11 and the WTC attack

The very country we saved

Better than 40 percent of their people

Felt the attack was just,

Again,

They spit on us.

I don’t know about you,

But I am tired of this s**t

We bail their asses out

And all we get is spit.

I think it is time

To just let it be.

If they want it bad enough,

Let them die to be free.

Blood is the price you pay.

To have freedom your way.

Leave our country the hell alone,

Or by the grace of god and technology

You will be gone.

Before you spit, think

Who fed you when there was famine?

When epidemics ran wild

Who stepped forward with medicine?

When you had to run from your foe,

Who gave you shelter and a place to go?

It wasn’t the other Moslem States that stepped in,

It was those “godless” Americans.

We did, for our cause was just,

Now think real hard…do you still want to spit on us?

Author's Notes/Comments:

There comes a time when you have to let nature take its course and stop trying to be the world's policeman.  The middle eastern region has been at war since the beginning of time and they keep drawing us into the middle of it.  I think it is time for the states in that region to handle it themselves and leave us out of it.

that was a good poem, i liked the central idea of it, and it kinda tells how the americans do "spit" on a lot of people and how we take these things we have for granted.

I like this poem a lot and it's very true. I know we do a lot for other countries and get nothing in return. Always keep writing and keep truth in what you write, it'll keep your words alive longer.

isn't it sometimes human nature to reject what is good for us? God knows it is.

You are right in what you feel. I would have things differently.

Spit is the greatest disrespect of physical assault, I think. j.

This is very thought provoking and true...However I can't help but think just how much through history we the American people have "spit" on people "we" think different and not so mainstream...even today we are getting "spit" on by our own politicians and those that are looking out for "our" own best interests...thanks for sharing Huck

i have said for years that if they want to keep fighting and killing each other then we should just let them do it and quit killing our men to fight for them. they don't know any better and obviously don't want any better.
