Empty Promises

So many promises, that have no depth;

gradually filling, with tears unwept.

There is pain, that you don't see,

and it tears me apart, so terribly.

I stand up strong, even though I'm weak;

I open my mouth, with no words to speak.

Crying beside you, but making no sound,

because in this, my hands are bound.

Empty vows, never meant to last,

so love from you, I cannot ask.

Life without you, I cannot see,

but friendship only, is what we agreed.

Very sad poem, but still beautiful!
