Burned

Folder:
Thoughts on Life

Every time I hurl

A fiery insult,

I burn myself.

A grudge scalds

Those who hold it

More than those

To whom it is aimed.

Gripping grudges,

Hot coals in palms,

Is more painful

Than forgiveness.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Inspired by: "Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned." Buddha
